Still a little confused

Tonight I was completely embarrassed by a Walmart cashier. My husband and myself went through the store picking up our usual items. I happened to pass by the alcohol aisle and found some fruity drink I had wanted to try. When I got to the register the cashier asked for my I.d. I handed it over with no problem. When I pulled out my debit card my husband told me he would prefer I use our joint account card. I said oh ok and pulled out our other card not thinking anything about the situation. Before I knew it the cashier was freaking out on me and taking all the items out of the bags saying she couldn't sell me the alcohol. She wouldn't explain to me why I couldn't purchase the items instead looked passed me and continued rambling on about how she wasn't going to sell me the product. My husband who was also confused said "oh did you need to see my I.d. too" and began to pull his identification out. She completely ignored us and continued on to the next customer. I was left standing there ready to pay for the rest of my non alcoholic items but she wouldn't ring those up either. I asked to speak to a manager hoping that something could be more clearly explained to me. But the cashier ignored my request to call for a manager. At this point my husband became frustrated and asked another cashier to call for a manager. When the manager came we explained the situation and she said she could not overrule her cashiers judgement of selling us alcohol. And that because when my husband told me to use a different card that made him a third party and they don't deal with third parties. Both the emplyoyee and manager were very rude my husband and myself ended up walking out without anything. It was all a very disappointing situation.

I would like some sort of an apology for the employee making me feel dumb. Along with some better customer service in the future providing my husband ever let's me spend another dollar there. If they have a alcohol policy thats fine but at least explain it to me before refusing service at all and making me look stupid in front of a line of people.

As an employee that sells alcohol constantly, I would have simply
asked the husband for his ID too, before pulling all of the stuff out
of the bags. Seriously, whats easier?

But then again, if Walmart has a stricter policy about third party
sales then they do.

At least she could have TOLD you that.

and don't worry -- you didn't look stupid. This cashier is dumber
than a mentally challenged box of rocks.

This employee and this manager not only should be fired for being
stupid, they should have whatever cord pulled that is hooking them up
to life support, because they apparently have no brain function.

How exactly did the employee MAKE you feel dumb? If anything, the
employee only managed to embarrass herself carrying on that way.

If nothing wrong is being done, there's nothing to feel bad about,
right?
