Do not take matters into your own hands Wawa deli clerks!

To whom it concerns,

Last night around 9:30 pm I was at your location on Drum Point Road in Brick New Jersey. I ordered the Cream of Broccoli soup in a large portion. The deli clerk informed me that they only had enough for a medium cup, so I said I would take that. A few minutes later I turn around to see her adding a carton of Half and Half milk to the soup in an attempt I guess, to make it go further than just my serving.

I cannot believe she was putting unauthorized ingredients into the soup! I know this is not common practice for Wawa to add extra ingredients to its products. My mother worked for a Wawa a few years ago, and she told me all they do is add water to thaw out the soups in the pot. Every other fast food deli place does the same thing.

I picked this soup specifically because of its point value in the Weight Watchers program. When an additional product is added that isn't supposed to be, it will alter the nutrition value drastically, whether the clerk had any idea or not, is unknown to me.

I did not see a manager to speak with,so I had no way of informing them of this incident.

I love Wawa food products, and consider them to be my go to convenience store. I purchase deli items at least 6 days a week from various Wawa locations.

I would just like to know if I am mistaken, and this is indeed a common practice for the Broccoli Soup to have half and half added to it. Perhaps the recipe changed and I didn't know it.

If not a common practice, I would like the employees retrained on how to heat the soups and to also receive a reminder that they cannot go putting extra ingredients to the proprietary product of wawa.

Retrain deli clerks, and find out how often this adding of ingredients occurs.

Thank you

amanda reeves
