Debit card fiasco

Write a Letter to this Company

On January 6th I went into a store to make 3 separate purchases. First was for approx $400, second for $20, The third for approx $180. First two transactions went through. Third one failed, I still had over $800 in the account so immediately called the bank. After going through all the steps to get a live person to talk too, then answering all the security & personal questions they released my funds. Saying this was a safeguard because they thought the card may have been fraudulently used. After being assured all was okay I hung up & went to make my purchase. Again it failed, I called back the bank went through all the questions again, only to be told that the gentlemen I had talked too accidently marked card as stolen instead of releasing funds as he told me he had.Now they tell me nothing can be done to reverse this. I have to go without the card till they mail me a new one. My last purchase cannot be made. Which cost me dearly in my sales, and a customer. Let alone the gas & travel time I spent & had to re-spend to go back to that store. On the 14th of January I called to find out where the card was, since I still had not received it. I was at this time told that it was mailed out on the 11th and should receive it by January 22nd at the latest. I was extremely upset. First that card was not even sent out till the 11th (5 days after incident) and that I would not receive it till around the 22nd. I had a university class to attend all that week and needed that card. Since it was the banks error the card should have been Fed Exed to me on the 7th. The girl then handed me to a manager who said they could now do that but then they would have to suspend the one mailed & could cause more delays. So I said just leave it be & I'll wait. They suggested my getting a temporary card. I want the real one and not to have to make extra trips, especially since I only had a car 2 days a week. Today is the 30th of January I still have not received my card. Today I called talked to a guy named Tim, he claims the card was never sent out at all until the 26th. And that the card has to be created by visa and that takes a while. Such garbage. Such lies being told. So now the gal I talked to before lied because according to Tim it was NEVER sent out till the 26th and that they do NOT keep record of my calls. This is the worst customer service I have ever received anywhere. So now he tells me I need to drive to my branch and get an instant issue card that is only good for two weeks to use. Again I should spend my time & gas for the banks mistake? I leave for an out of state trip in 2 weeks, what if I still do not have my card. I will have to travel with cash(that is dangerous) since so many businesses no longer except checks. I am so furious with the imcompetance of your staff and the poor customer service to see a problem through to solution.

I really feel you owe me for my inconvenience of time, travel(gas), loss of my business customers and for giving me such poor customer service. If I had made a mistake it would have cost me fees. But all I have received is "best I can do is apologize to you, we are deeply sorry." I will probably NOT be staying with your bank for long. I receive spousal support every month but never know which month you will be putting a hold on it. First month did not, second month two days before Christmas you put a hold on the check this month no hold again. Such wishy washy practices. I truly hope I get my card soon.
Very disgruntled,
Debra Kazor

no bank is going to pay you back on gas or "business loss". I know
it's annoying but... they have no way to quantify how much business
you may have lost.

not to mention it may also be in the account policy stating that they
are not responsible for that.

i can only suggest ... if you're using debit then you may want to
consider also obtaining the funds from the bank if you have a branch
there.

now granted i think that sucks what happened and i've ditched banks
for stuff like that. but ... the only way you're going to be able to
force them to pay you what you think they owe you is to file a
lawsuit. and that's only if you win.
