I have been a customer with this bank since the late 80's when it was Meridian bank. I have never had a problem with this bank until the change from Wachovia to now Wells Fargo in the last two months we have numerous fake charges. I have called the bank several times and told that the charges were because I didn't have $25,000 in my account. My husband went into the bank to set up a new checking account and one savings account he opened both accounts with a hundred dollar deposit. At no time did the employees in the Reading bank tell him there had to be a $25,000 in this account at all times. Let alone it says online that the account could not be opened without a minimum deposit of $25,000. So when we received a thirty dollar overdraft for the checking account a month after we had it opened because there was only a hundred dollars in that account (which that is what we opened the account with in the first place). We were shocked so we called the customer service number and were told because we didn't have the twenty five thousand dollars in our account we would be charged thirty dollars every month. So we closed that account. This month I noticed a twenty five dollar fee on my savings account. So I called into customer service and was told because you don't have twenty five thousand dollars in this account you will be charged that every month. I asked the agent what kind of account was the savings he stated "High Yield savings account" I said how can that be when we opened that account with a hundred dollars and online it states that a minimum deposit of twenty five thousand needed to open that kind of savings. I asked him to speak with a supervisor and was told that there was no supervisors available to help me at 8:43am and that I would receive a call back. I explained to him that I wanted to resolve it now. Many times this customer service agent muted his line and I had to say hello? Then he hung up on me. If this is the way that Wells Fargo helps their customers then I think I am withdrawing my money and going to another bank. My question is this - if you want people to open a savings account how are we suppose to save if you keep taking fees out of our account. Let alone I NEVER received any information on the new fees or the changes from Wachovia to Wells Fargo!
I want all fees in writing sent to me. I want all fees refunded to my account and I want explanation why the employees in banks don't know the minimums for accounts. At this point I don't even know if I will stay at your bank.
