Hygiene and Flu Concerns at Wendy's

Dear Mr. Wendy,
In this current state of fear and uncertainty surrounding the H1N1 virus, I find it inexcusably irresponsible to see Wendy's lax rules concerning hygiene. My fiance and I were getting a burger and some chicken nuggets today at a Wendy's in NYC... and to our shock and horror we saw the Wendy's employee place open chicken nuggets (not covered) on a tray while she invited a group of tourists over to take their order after ours. As each tourist leaned in to order their meal, they spit and breathed all over our chicken nuggets sitting on the ordering bar. Disgusting, Mr. Wendy!
If you plan to maximize efficiency by taking the order of the next group of people while other's food sits out on a tray between the customer and Wendy's employee, please make sure that all your food is properly wrapped.
New York City is a crowded place and we are all just trying to stay healthy this winter season. Please enforce proper hygiene standards.
A concerned customer.

Did you at what you ordered? I hope not!
I went to Arby's one time. The Asst. Manager was outside smoking a cigarette. He came back in after smoking and saw my order on the screen. Before he washed his hands, he put his hands on my food (the wrapper) and put it on the tray. I immediately asked for my money back. I refused to eat there then, and since.

Or did you think they did?
Better yet... if you think they spit on your food.... i'm hoping you didn't try eating it.
perhaps you should contact the local health board to file a complaint?

I have a question for you.....Why did you stay and eat there then? Did speak with the manager on duty, and let her know of the situation?

This sounds no different from the samples at malls, grocery stores, etc.
The samples are uncovered, you have no idea where it came from, how it was made, or whether the person that put them on the tray washed their hands.
People eat samples all the time, only now are people thinking about it.
If you think that was bad, just imagine what they employees are doing back there.
Good Day

I'm not sure who "Mr. Wendy" is, but the hygeine you described is unacceptable. You have a very good suggestion, and you should speak with the manager regarding this as well.

"they spit"
Wow. It's amazing that people are so disgusting as to walk up to a counter and spit in someone else's food.
What has the world come to?
In any case, I agree that wrapping products is a good idea. There are ways to do this such that excess waste is not created.
Not that the people in the back aren't spitting in the food. :)
