So sick of eating the wrong order and/or picking unwanted (unrequested) toppings off my food

Received the wrong order from these bastards for the Nth time!I have called them and complained and gone back and been compensated. I am tired of that process. I wish they would pack up and move away from my work. This happens over and over again. I do not call and tell them anymore, I just let them keep the extra dollar from the 5 piece crispy nuggets that I was not given, or take the wrong sandwich or pick the onions and tomatoes off the sandwich. The thing that really gets me steamed is that they deliver your food no more than 90 seconds after taking your money. I personally feel that 3-5 minutes is an acceptable length of time to wait for hot, fresh food. The taste and quality of the food is always great (the reason why I always go back and give Wendy's another chance) I have worked next door to this Wendy's for a couple years now. Other Wendy's locations are not like this, but at this location there is some manager guy literally yelling (and I mean literally yelling like he works for the military or something) at the other employees to hurry up. When I visited Wendy's today, I was the only car in the drive thru, and no cars came up while I was getting my food. The parking lot was fairly empty, I wish they would take the time to make my order the way that I paid for it. Like I stated earlier, this has happened at least a dozen times before, sometimes I contact Wendy's and let them know, and they always offer to make it right, frankly it is not worth my time. You guys can keep your 99 cents plus tax that you have stolen from me once again. The time that it would take me to be compensated (again) is flat out not worth the buck.

Actually, I think they should slow down their drive thru service and focus more on accuracy.

actually, I think it's a company standard. I have gone to several of
their restaurants and have almost every time have something wrong with
the order. I understand the need for fresh and "made to order" but
sometimes I don't think the cooks actually READ the order...just put
the sandwiches together the way they are "trained" and not pay
attention to any special requests.

Well, calling them bastards helps.

I will never understand people who keep going back to places where
they get wrong orders, something is always wrong, etc.

STOP GOING IF IT'S SO BAD!

I think this is a valid complaint. No, no one is forcing the OP to go
to Wendy's, but the fact is that Wendy's, and every other fast food
restaurant on earth, exists to provide food, fast. If the food
received is not the food ordered, Wendy's needs to know about it. So
on that level at least, I am with the OP.

That being said, while this is a valid complaint, its intended readers
at Wendy's are likely to hit "delete" about halfway through line one.
No matter how upset you are, calling the people you want to help you
"bastards" guarantees that they will ignore you. It's really a shame
that the OP didn't take the time to actually write a business letter
on this subject, making his points clearly and professionally, but he
didn't. That will get this letter, and its valid premise, nowhere at
all.

You have 2 options. Stop going there, or check your meal before you
leave the drive-thru. Duh.

I have a sinking feeling that one of these days we are going to be
reading about about Rich F. and it not going to be about him getting
Wendys to move away from his work.

I see that I'm in the minority here.

I agree that the letter lacks finesse. but I think that's due to sheer
frustration. The letter writer seems to appreciate that he's always
treated properly by the employees, but is at the end of his rope
trying to get a correct order. Even if he took the time to check it
every time, he would then have to wait for his order to be fixed.
Since he eats there frequently, that would be pretty annoying.

Of course, he doesn't have to go there and is free to go wherever he
likes, but I understand how annoying it would be to have a Wendy's
right next to work and not be able to enjoy the convenience because of
something that could be easily fixed, especially when they're not
busy.

I don't think the place is poorly run. It sounds like the manager is
putting too much emphasis on the time element and not enough on
accuracy. I realize it's fast food, and people want it immediately,
but I also think a lot of people wouldn't mind waiting an exra few
minutes to get hot, fresh, accurately prepared food.

I think if the manager made an adjustment that created a better
balance in priorities, it would be a wonderful place to eat, as the
letter writer says the taste and quality of the food is always great,
which is what keeps him going back.

I feel sorry for this guy. Obviously someone is holding a gun to his
head and dragging him into the Wendy's.

Why don't *you* pack up and eat somewhere else? As RedHead pointed
out, it sounds like it is just poorly run. I don't know if Wendy's
corporate can put pressure on them to improve, if it is a franchise.

I have to admit that I actually laughed out loud (some of you young
people may know this term as "lol") while reading this. He is just so
pissed that it's funny!

Dude, let me just explain something to you: What you are complaining
about is just a very poorly managed fast food restaurant. So long as
it is poorly managed, it will suck, its employees will suck, the food
will suck, the it's likely that the ambience will be a bit lacking.

Save your time, energy, and your life (I think that vein in your
forehead is about to burst!), and just stop going to that restaurant.
Life is short. Go where your food is prepared correctly. Enjoy
eating it.

Seriously. I read "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff (and it's all small
stuff)" and it helped me with my temper. Just sayin'.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that calling them bastards is
not going to help them take you seriously. I do understand your
frustration, though. One McDonald's here used to be like that. My
impossible to anger son once repeated his specifications of ketchup
and mustard only on his burger three times and each time the girl
repeated it back to him--wrong. He started laughing and she got mad!
They have improved somewhat, but everyone around here knows this
McDonald's as the one to avoid. It sounds like the manager may be
most of the problem. If someone was yelling at me constantly, i'd
probably make mistakes too.

Bzzzt! Try again dimwit!

And next time be a little more professional. "Bastards" is not an
appropriate word to include in a business letter.

This is a complaint I have about our local Wendy's too. Almost
everytime I go, my order is made wrong. However, I will either deal
with it, or calmly go inside and ask for it to be made properly.

I think your request is reasonable, but the way you have worded it is
not proper. I wouldnt mind waiting a few extra minutes to ensure my
food is made properly.

I have some other issues about my Wendy's as well, but I wont go into
them at this time.

I have become used to saying number 2 ketchup mustard and cheese only
PLEASE. Then I actually check *before* I drive away. Most of the
time it is correct but every once in a while it is wrong and I get it
fixed before pulling away, usually just takes a minute. What I don't
do is have a melt down and get all crazy and call people names.

"Received the wrong order from these bastards"

Congratulations, you just lost all hope of anyone at Wendy's caring
about your complaint before your first sentence was even complete.

Whether you like the food or not, it's simply not worth the
aggravation this is obviously causing you. Either chill out or stop
going.

"I personally feel that 3-5 minutes is an acceptable length of time to
wait for hot, fresh food."

You may think so, but if there were five people ahead of you in line
during lunch rush and you had to wait 15-25 minutes you'd probably be
complaining about that. This is why they call it fast food.

Since you insist on going back time and time again, and you know
they're probably going to get something wrong, why not CHECK YOUR BAG
BEFORE YOU LEAVE? You would save yourself the time and energy you've
been putting in to calling them, going back and being compensated.

You want them to move away from where you work so you can stop going
there? This doesn't make any sense unless they are somehow forcing
you to buy food there. Just don't go!

If you must, take 15 seconds and check your order before you pull out
from the drive thru or leave the counter. Any problems can then be
immediately corrected.

Complaining about getting fast food too fast does not make any sense.

While it sounds like you are describing many fast food restaurants in
general, your letter is very angry and the name calling takes you
steps down from being taken seriously.

I actually think you are a reasonable person, and your request is also
quite reasonable.

I agree, I'd rather wait an extra few minutes to receive hot, fresh,
accurately prepared food, because having to complain takes more time
and is also inconvenient.

Unfortunately, a lot of people expect immediate gratification, and it
sounds like that's the manager's goal. I'm not sure if your way of
thinking is in the minority, but I would at least try to explain it to
the (yelling) manager, and he/she might actually consider focusing
more on accuracy than speed. It's worth a try, considering it's a
convenient place for you to have lunch.

Good luck.

You want them to move away from your work? Why don't you just not stop
there- are they forcing you to eat there?
Another thing I don't understand is that you complain that the food is
arriving too soon and say that you should have to wait for hot, fresh
food, but then compliment them on the taste and quality- wouldn't
quality food be hot and fresh?
I agree that they need to concentrate on the correctness of their
orders, but you have to realize that they are also being timed/graded
on how fast they deliver your food to you. Most customers feel the
opposite of you, and demand their food be ready almost as soon as they
finish ordering.
You can always check your order before leaving, that seems as if it
would solve most of your issues.
