my life was threatened

Posted Sat July 8, 2006 11:18 pm, by jose m. written to Wendy's International, Inc.

Write a Letter to this Company  |  Rate this Company

On Jul 8 2006 at 3:58 P.M. I went to the Wendy's at 39580 Lowes Drive, Palmdale, CA 93551, to order 2 JR BAC CHEESE for 1.98 and 1 small fry FOR 0.99. While I was waiting in line the hispanic cashier who was helping a customer looked over at me and said in spanish "go to hell". I just ignored her thinking she had a hard day at work. After she helped the customer she left me standing there and she went to clean the tables. I was waiting 5 minutes before I asked this elderly, gray haired hispanic lady who was cleaning the table around the cash register, "Miss are you taking orders?". She told me "No, I am just the cleaning lady, I will get someone". Then she approached a young, skinny hispanic lady in the back and she told her in spanish, "That hog out there needs some service". I decided to ignore her comment. I asked an employee by the name of Kimberly if she was taking orders. She took my order. At this point in my mind I decided not to file any complaints. I decided to sit at my table and eat my meal and to never return to a Wendy's restaurant as long as I live. While I was eating at the table, the same hispanic girl who told me to go to hell and who refused to take my order, by leaving to clean the tables, came by my table and she was talking to a lady who was sitting next to me and who was a customer. While she was talking to this lady she looked at me and said "We are going to wack you". In my mind I took this as a threat to my life and then I decided to go home and write a letter of complaint to the company. The employee who made that threat to my life is hispanic and very heavy. I forgave her because she looked tired and had a hard day at work. Even when I left the restaurant, I felt sorry for her and decided not to make the complaint. When I was sitting in the bookstore I remembered how she threatened my life with all that hate in her voice and I started crying in the bookstore. I then changed my mind and decided it was best to make the complaint. I have always been treated very well at all the Wendy's restaurants but this day was a horrible day that I have never experienced at any Wendy's. I don't plan on eating at anymore Wendy's restaurants or any other restaurants for that matter. It is best to cook my food at home or to carry a lite lunch and drink with me anywhere I go.

I would like Wendy's International, Inc. to call me and to give me an explanation as to why I was treated so bad at their fast food restaurant.

I understand you. I also believe there are 2 kinds of people in this
world. Good and bad. You have the good people that are caucasian,
african american, hispanic... and You have "white trash" and "dirty
mexicans" and "niggers" and all sorts of names for different bad
people.

I think you encountered the bad kind, personally.

And no offence to all those out there who call each other a "nigger"
as a good thing. Ya'll are all cool. :)

Dude!

I have a friend who is, unfortunately a crystal meth junkie and he
thinks his neighbors have bugged his home and that they tap into his
Internet connection and steal his personal information (mind you, his
neighbors are in their 60's and don't even own a microwave!)

Whatever you are on, I hope you get some help!

excuse me, but if you REALLY felt like your life was threatened, you
would have called the cops from there from your cell phone (if you
have one) or talked to the manager right on the spot. You would NOT
have came on here and typed up a complain in which they might NEVER
see.

Next time something like this happens and you can understand what they
are saying, just shout back to the kitchen in Spanish (or whichever
language they are using) something like: "Let's see what you got,
puta!" or "Oh, yeah? You gonna kill me with a plastic fork, tough
guy?"

I'll bet the shock of them realizing you understood what they said
would defuse the whole situation.

Plus, if a manager is around to witness this, you can tell him/her
exactly what the employee said.

Geez, getting some lunch can be a dangerous business.

I was in a fast food restraunt and the greek guy who took my order and
the spanish speakers in teh back started talking back and forth about
what they wanted to do and how they wanted to do it to me..and what a
b**** I was after I asked for a straw. Assuming I didn't speak
spanish.

I called the owner to complain about it the next day (he wasn't in, it
was his son that took my order).

It does happen though, he might not look like he speaks esp.

I'd be more concerned that my life was being threatened by consuming
two bacon cheeseburgers and a box of French fries. That'll kill you
faster than some pissed-off cashier.

something like this is really wrong but you made your emphasis on
"spanish" and "hispanic" a little too thick..does this have anything
to do with how you were treated?

Get over it Jose, if they really wanted to kill you the would have
followed you out of the store and shot you. You are just imagine

Ok, be real. Do you honestly think that if this really happened,
Wendy's International is going to call you and say, "Yeah we decided
to call in a crack team of psychic experts and they determined the fat
hispanic chic broke up with her boyfriend and decided that the best
way to let it out was to treat a customer bad."
How would Wendy's International have any clue of why you were treated
that way?
That in mind, what on Earth makes you think they could provide any
explanation, and why would you expect them to call you and explain
it?

There has to be more to this story. You cannot tell me that someone
out of the blue started talking to you like that and also started
threatening you, all without you doing anything at all. You just were
sitting/standing there and she just picked you out and started this.

I would love to hear the other side of this story.

Reply

by Julie2071 Posted Mon July 10, 2006 @ 10:30 PM

If that really happened, then you would be calling the police right
now (or at the very least talking to the manager). I don't think that
Wendy's International can explain the behavior of any paticular
employee. This is truly one of the stranger letters I have read here.

Reply

by VidraysAvatar Posted Mon July 10, 2006 @ 7:12 PM

Does this remind anyone of those weird movies like "Naked Lunch".
Where total strangers' faces start warping and twisting and they call
you by name and suddenly bark at you in baritone demonspeak: "The girl
with the mop. KILL HER NOW!"

I guess my question would be: Did the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger also
speak to you? And if it did, what did it say?

Jose, are you sure you didn't have just a little bit of "clear liquid"
before you walked into Wendy's?

C'mon, this is just between you, me, and that stainless steel tub of
sliced tomatoes over there. (It's been watching us for quite some time
now.) *twitch!*

Oh really? I like the part of your complaint: "It is best to cook my
food at home or to carry a lite lunch and drink with me anywhere I
go."

You sound like a child wanting praise and approval of your new "carry
along lite lunch" idea.

Don't forget to carry your meds with that new "lite lunch and drink."

Poor Wendy's, it never ends for them.

Surely not. Surely you weren't just minding your own business, when a
woman you have never had previous dealings with suddenly threatened
your life, using cornball mafia-movie lingo. Either you did something
to warrant this attack, you already knew this woman and had given her
some reason to want you dead, or Wendy's employs day patients from an
asylum. I'm not sure which of the first two I'm going to go with
here, but I will second ticky's shenanigans. *If* this happened, you
left out some plot points along the way.

I just find it incredibly hard to believe that you got told to go to
hell, got called a pig and were threatened with a wacking and you
didn't even protest at the time. Not to mention you decided to eat as
well.

You must be the worlds biggest pacifist. Those comments to me
would've started a brouhaha the likes of which would go down in urbane
lore as the time that crazy bastard got medieval on the staff at
Wendy's.

Time to fess up. I'm going to have to call the Shenanigan Patrol if
you don't come clean.

It's possible to take 'turn the other cheek' too far, amigo. If you
are telling the truth then you are either a modern day saint or a
fool. If you truly felt threatened, you should have reported it to the
manager on duty or even to the district manager if the store manager
proved unsympathetic. As it is, I think you are full of it.

Wow
Ok, first the Mexican employees said nasty stuff to you in Spanish and
you understood it because you just happen to and didn't let on,
Then the lady decides not to take your order and clean tables and
while doing so, she says she will wack you which scared you but you
felt sorry for her.
And an additional hispanic employee who also was cleaning tables
called you a hog.
Did the one who said she'd wack you say it in Spanish this time? Did
she assume you wouldn't know, or is it clear to her that you
understand Spanish?
At first I thought wow it's a case of skinny hispanics against fat
fast food eating Americans, but then you said she was heavy and you
felt sorry for her. But the other one called you a hog.
Very sureal or twighlight zone like.
What happens if the letter is read by another hispanic at Wendy's
Inc?
Is your point that they are rude or that hispanics are rude? Ok I see
your name is Jose, so you are hispanic too. Very confusing letter.

Ok, calm down, the first thing you need to do is call the police and
inform them of the ensuing hit on your life. Tell them you are willing
to testify only if they change your identity, put you in the witness
protection program and send you to live in Elephant Butte, New
Mexico.
