Warranty; I feel as though I have been duped.

Well, I certainly won't buy another Whirlpool product. I purchased a Whirlpool water heater three years ago, which has a six year warranty.
The water heater doesn't work very well. Somtimes it heats and sometimes it doesn't. Even when it does heat. It doesn't get hot enough. It can't handle a ten minute shower! This affects my washer and my dishwasher as well.

The warranty is a joke. It will pay for parts only. I called the warranty dept and a very nice woman from TN took the call. Well, I was then told I had to contact one of their contractors to come out and fix it. Sure, no problem.
The service call alone is $75.00 and labor is extra. The parts covered cost about $20.00. It isn't even worth the effort to attempt Whirlpool to honor the warranty.

I barely got three years out of this water heater and now I have to jump through hoops to get them to pay $20.00? Forget it. I'll just buy another with a better warranty and/or better quality. No wonder American manufacturing is struggling! Anything to rip off the consumer! Whirlpool won't stand behind their product in a meaningful way.

Honor the warranty, part AND labor.

Maryanne S.,

Unless it actually states in your Warranty Paperwork that parts and
labor are covered you are best off going elsewhere for "another with a
better warranty and/or better quality" that states such in the
paperwork.
