Buy tickets at TicketTango or Getseatsonline

Posted Sat November 15, 2008 11:25 am, by Bob A. written to www.getseatsonline.com

I was looking for a ticket for an event (Celtic Thunder) and TicketTango popped up first on a popular search engine. I checked and it appeared as though the event was sold out and they had bought tickets. I purchased tickets and then started to wonder about the price -- just didn't seem right. Checked out the site of the event and this company was probably buying the tickets online and selling them at double the price. I then called and requested they not purchase the tickets but there was no one there. So I sent an email. I finally reached them on the following moring (Sat AM) and although I knew they had not run my credit card for the purchase the ticket, they informed me they were going to attempt to charge my card anyway. Even if they would have told me - look, we still have to charge you the 24 dollar service fee, I would have been alright with that because I have bought way better seats for $20 less.

I want to warn others about this company that hids behind the curtain of the web to provide tickets that are available much cheaper through other means. I understand if a company has tickets to a sold out event, that they would charge more -- but this event was not sold out. I would like them to charge me the price of the service fee ($24), drop the purchase for the ticket ($140) and drop the handling fee (12.50) since my tickets don't need to be handled.

That is obviously the wrong time to consider the price. You should
realize that you agreed to purchase the tickets at a given price.

Both TicketTango and getseatsonline have a policy of "Tickets may be
sold above face value" and "All sales are final," so my guess is you
have no recourse whatsoever.

"Above" face value, not "at" face value. by Donno Sat November 15, 2008 @ 11:27 PM

Actually, I think it would be less scrupulous to offer vastly overpriced by Steve-OH Sun November 16, 2008 @ 11:55 AM
