Look,
I was really tired one Friday afternoon, at the end of a long and tiring work week, and accidentally gave this company my cell phone number. Keep in mind, that I gave them no credit card info, simply my cell phone number for some "FREE" trial ringtones.
Immediately thereafter, I learn that only God himself can discontinue their service and that it's going to cost me lots of money whether I want their crap or not.
PLEASE BELIEVE ME, THAT I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT THEIR SCAMMY SERVICE ON MY CELL PHONE AND HAVE CONTEMPLATED DISCONTINUING MY CELL PHONE SERVICE TO GET RID OF THESE SCAMMERS/CON ARTISTS/RIPOFF MASTERS AND KEEP THEM OUT OF MY BANK ACCOUNT.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME STOP THEM?!!!! I DON'T WANT THEIR SERVICE!!!
STOP!!! STOP!!! STOP!!!!!
I DON'T WANT YOUR SERVICE, I DON'T WANT YOUR EVER-INCREASING BILL FOR MY "FREE" RINGTONES.
JUST GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!
YOU'RE SCAM ARTISTS, RIPOFF PEOPLE, CON ARTISTS
WHY NOT GET USED TO THE IDEA THAT THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH AND HONESTLY EARNING SOMEONE'S BUSINESS WILL TAKE YOU A LOT FURTHER THAN A JAIL CELL, WHICH IS WHERE YOU'LL EVENTUALLY BE FOR DEFRAUDING PEOPLE THROUGH THE USE OF INTERSTATE COMMERCE: WHICH IS A FELONY.

Don't understand what all the ranting and raving is about. Back in early January 2007 someone decided to go online and enter my cell number and lo and behold i received my statement with these bogus charges. I called Verizonwireless and said there was nothing they could do as it was billed from a third party vendor. When I called Tones4us it was an automated message that did not allow you to speak with any live person. Finally I logged into my verizonwireless account online complained and explained my dilemma with Tones. After my second email to Verizonwireless I expressed my disappointment at how they could allow anyone to submit cell phone numbers via the web and get charged. I am happy to announce I was credited about $43 and did not have to pay a single penny to those thieves. In order to apply for such ringtones online Verizonwireless now has a pre-requisite where you have to confirm on your end before such charges can get posted...

I was also a person who accidentally fell for their service. I followed Gino's instructions and I was successful in cancelling my subscription. Oh, by the way, it also works for their horoscopes and their "love images" text messages that they are also hawking.

I also screwed up by Tones4US.com Ringtone services, My Mobile Provider Verizon Wireless Charged the bill of 5.99 each for 3 Premium Text Messages. I paid almost 18.97 extra charges to Verizon Wireless and i tried to contact several times with Verizon Customer Service and they are always replied that nothing we do because it's Third Party Vendor who charges your Account.
I told them I don't know the company Tones4US and never subscribed any services with my knowledge ,how can they charge to my Verizon Wireless without any Prior permission of me or Verizon.
I can say definately Tones4us.com is 100% fraud/spam company and they are not even replies your email or Phone. All Wireless Carries not to entertain this kind of companies and avoid unnecessary billin to customer.
I also complained to Better Business Bureau about this fraud companies Tones4us and Verizon Wireless ....let see how it moves

Call your credit card company & tell them you want to cancel the account you have & to issue you a new account. Tell them you think you are the target of identity theft & they will gladly do it. They don't want to get caught up in any identity theft any more than you do. I have had to do this a couple of times myself to stop them from billing me for stuff I did not want just as what is happening to you.

Herbert,
There is a way to leave a message on their phone line. I do not remember the exact #'s to get to the voice mail part, but it is a waste anyway. They do not call back. I fell for the same scam. I am hoping that it has stopped. (I will find out on my next cell phone bill) I do not have a way to verify cancelation, if you find out something, please let me know. They only way to officially have it stopped (I think) is to go through the cell phone service providor. Good luck! I know and understand you frustration.. they are a ghost company.

I'm kind of hung up on how one accidentally gives a company one's cell phone number. Were you intending to give them your social security number and you remembered wrong?
But anyway: first, I want to congratulate you on using all caps on the internet correctly. You very clearly did intend to be shouting when you did it. Of course, it was probably not a great idea to start shouting in a business letter, but you get credit for this because in my experience almost nobody who does long sections of all caps understands what that conveys.
As for your complaint, I can't be sure without a list of the things you did while trying to get the service canceled, but it looks to me as if you are in the wrong here.
I think you might want to take your own advice, accept that there's no such thing as a free lunch, and start asking yourself, before you sign up for anything "free", what the incentive is for people to give you something for nothing. Recognize that when someone starts talking about a "trial" offer they're almost certainly trying to sell you an ongoing service. Then read the entire agreement before signing or clicking or whatever. If you don't understand it or if you are too tired to make good decisions, don't do it.
Discontinue the service. Instructions are in a previous post. If you try using that method and it doesn't work -- I'm guessing you hadn't read that part of the agreement since you didn't read the rest -- document that. This thing about "only God himself" is certainly a great expression of frustration, but it doesn't tell anyone what you've already tried to do. Pay your bill. If it's "ever-increasing" you're probably not paying it, but you agreed to pay it when you signed up. Quit with the ridiculous threats: it is not a felony to sell things to people who don't bother reading a contract before committing themselves to it. Quit with the namecalling. It doesn't matter that signing up was a bad decision on your part and one you probably made at a time when you really shouldn't have been making decisions with long-term consequences -- the one who did something wrong was you. And accept the consequences of your actions, even the stupid ones (and everyone I know, at least, does some really stupid stuff now and again).
Then enjoy the free time you would otherwise have been spending being upset about this situation. You deserve it.

Greeting and Salutations Herb!
Ok this is, generally how it works. First go to the dollar store and get a pair of reading glasses
Second go to www.Tones4us.com website and look at the bottom of the page right under the square that says "Click here if you agree to the terms and conditions.
Read (out loud if necessary)
Summary Terms :By clicking the "Continue" button you agree to subscribe to tones4us's Ringtone service. The service will send a ringtone to download each week to your phone. The 9.99USD charge will be billed to your wireless bill monthly. You may stop this subscription service at any time by sending a text message with STOP, to short code 76284. Your phone must be polyphonic compatible, be Internet-enabled and have text messaging capability. You must be the owner of this device and either be at least sixteen years old or have the permission of your parent or guardian. Artist names used for identification purposes only. Standard/other text messaging rates may apply. For information text HELP to 76284; 18002357105
So this, my friend, is how you STOP STOP STOP them but you must PAY PAY PAY them for what you USED USED USED because you gave them your cell number cell number cell number.

OH! The kind that would use the word "bastard" in a business letter.
You're complaining because YOU gave your number and they are calling you?? YOU screwed up, and your baseless, childish threats mean nothing.
